Meet The Director
Yakov Dyman has been a heart and soul of Camp Dyman, formerly Dyman’s Music Summer Camp for more than 10 years. He is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who performs on 18 musical instruments. Mr. Dyman has performed numerous times at Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall in NYC and most prestigious concert stages in Russia and Western European Countries as a professional bassoonist. He has been on a musical faculty of Manhattan School of Technology. Yakov has 30 years of experience teaching instrumental music to thousands of students ages 3-87 in Russia, Norway United States. He is an owner and operator of Dyman’s Music School of Arts as well as a Band/Orchestra/Chorus Director at the NYC Public Schools for over 20 years.
Yakov's Philosophy
Besides his career in classical music, Mr. Yakov Dyman has a passion for sports and outdoor activities. He is an experienced swimmer and served as a certified lifeguard, swim coach and lifeguard manager at various summer camps. Yakov loves sports, games and all kind of athletic activities. He also enjoys to share his love and passion with children who attend the summer camp. Yakov aspirations were creating and operating affordable Summer Camps with emphasis on personal physical and emotional growth of each camper while developing love and passion for active lifestyle, creativity and character building skills in them.
